Betty E. Stalcup Crays

Betty E. “Beefie” Stalcup Crays, 94, of French Lick, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on December 25th, 2025 at Springs Valley Meadows.

She was born in Shoals, Indiana on January 5th, 1931 to Alton and Lillian (Bauer) Kerns.

Betty was married to Lexie Wayne Stalcup and he preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her Parents, Daughter – Kathy Stalcup, Brothers – Ralph and Clarence Kerns, and Sister – Phyllis Wininger.

Betty was a 1949 graduate of Shoals High School and attended Springs Valley Wesleyan and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

She was owner and operator at Stalcup’s Men’s Shop located in the French Lick Springs Hotel, had the Mod Shop in downtown French Lick and had worked at Huck’s as a cashier.

Betty enjoyed working in her yard, playing the slot machines at the casino, and having fun.

She is survived by:

Sons – Mike Stalcup of French Lick

Dan Stalcup of Rusk

Sister – Maryrose Risner of Florida

Nieces and Nephews

FUNERAL CEREMONY

A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 28th, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with a private burial at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

VISITATION

Visitation for Family and Friends will be Sunday, December 28th, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

The family requests that no flowers be sent, but to donate in Betty’s memory to Springs Valley Meadows Activities Fund,457 S. State Road 145, French Lick, IN 47432
