CARL RAY ROLL, 83, passed away at home on February 27th, 2026, after a brief illness. He was born on November 29th, 1942.

Carl married the love of his life and best friend, Judy Gilliatte, on May 12th, 1963. Together they shared 62 years of marriage and built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work.

He began his career as a local barber before leaving the profession to work on power plants, where he dedicated many years of service. Carl was a faithful Elder at Red Quarry Christian Church, serving with humility and devotion.

Growing up on the family farm, Carl developed a deep love for nature that stayed with him throughout his life. In his younger years he enjoyed horseback riding, camping, boating, and fishing, making countless memories and lifelong friends along the way.

In recent years, one of his greatest joys was sitting on his porch with a good cup of coffee, watching the wildlife in his yard. Carl had a special love for animals and cared for countless dogs, cats and horses over the years. It was not uncommon to see Carl and Judy walking their dog together in town.

Carl was a true jack of all trades and could fix just about anything. If something was broken, family and friends knew to call him. He was always willing to lend a hand and took pride in a job well done.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Hazel (Smith) Roll, his brother Dale Roll, his twin daughters Jill and Julie, and his Mother-in-Law Mae Gilliatte.

Carl is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Judy Roll; his daughter Penny (Brent) Harner; his grandson, Landon (Stephanie) Harner; great-granddaughters; Maddie and Reagan; Sisters-in-Law Margie Clark and Karen Roll and his little dog Lilly. Carl was blessed with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, a great-great niece and several cousins.

Carl will be remembered for the simple life he lived, steady faith, quiet strength, his funny and not so funny jokes and stories, and his unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
