She was born in Jasper, Indiana on February 13th, 1938 to Herbert and Tillie (Schuch) Englert.
Darlene married Benjamin Eugene Drabing on November 23rd, 1957 and he preceded her in death on
February 24th, 2021.
She was also preceded in death by her Parents and Sister – Patricia Braun.
Darlene was a 1955 graduate of Jasper High School and a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church.
She was co-owner of Brosmer-Drabing Funeral Home working with her husband Ben. She also worked for several local fashion retailers, before becoming a floral designer and ultimately owning her own flower shop. Darlene loved flowers, friends, family, and making deviled eggs.
She is survived by her sons, Dodd Drabing of Kingwood, Texas; Drew Drabing (Patty) of French Lick, Indiana; and
Darin Drabing (Helen) of Sierra Madre, California as well as her sister, Doris Witcher of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Darlene’s six grandchildren; Daniel Hagan, Lauren Morrison, Leigh Drabing, Skyler Drabing, Hayley Drabing and Logan Drabing, as well as three great-grandchildren Luke, Charlotte, and Channing will miss her.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL
Ceremonies will begin with a Eulogy at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25th, 2024 at Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church in French Lick, Indiana, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be conducted by the Very Rev. Joseph Moriarty.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in Darlene’s memory to Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church, 8796 W. State Road 56, French Lick, Indiana 47432.
