Dennis Ray Drake

Dennis Ray Drake, 84 of Santa Claus, Indiana entered into eternal rest on May 21st, 2025 at Brookside Village in Jasper, Indiana.

He was born in Gary, Indiana on November 2nd, 1940 to Claude and Helen (Rimmel) Drake.

Dennis married Linda Kay Kellams on March 17th, 1962 and she preceded him in death on September 20th, 2023.

He was also preceded in death by his Parents; Daughter – Melissa Ann Drake; Sisters – Barbara Drake Owen and Claudia Fisher.

Dennis was a 1959 graduate of Springs Valley High School and proudly served in the United States Army. He was an agent and regional manager for State Farm Insurance before opening his own office - Dennis Drake Insurance Agency, LLC., in Tell City, where he retired after more than 30 years. He obtained Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant Designations.

He was a member of Victory Baptist Church, American Legion Post 147 in Jasper, Masonic Lodge in Huntingburg, and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Dennis enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica, hunting, fishing and reading western books and watching western movies.

He is survived by:

Daughter – Michele Lynette (Drake) Borton of Santa Claus, Indiana

Brother – David Drake (Chris) of Huntingburg, Indiana

Grandchildren – Justin T., William and Cody Dauby

Great-Grandchildren – Trenton and Lilly

FUNERAL CEREMONY

A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Craig Chestnut on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow at Ames Chapel Cemetery.

VISITATION

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
