Elden "Drexell" Jackman

November 18, 1926 — September 20, 2018

Elden “Drexell” Jackman, age 91, entered into eternal rest on September 20th, 2018 at Springs Valley Meadows in French Lick, Indiana.

 

He was born in Martin County to Merl and Gertrude “Hawkins” Jackman on November 18th, 1926.

 

Drexell married Ruth Wininger on September 7th, 1947 and she preceded him in death on March 1st, 2012.

 

He was a 1945 graduate of Shoals High School, proudly served in the United States Army during World War II in the Military Police, was a member of Beechwood Christian Church and French Lick American Legion Post 76 for over 70 years. He was an avid golfer and volunteer at the food pantry for 30 years.

 

Drexell was employed at Texas Eastern from 1950 to 1985 when he retired as station operator.

 

He was also preceded in death by his parents, (5) Brothers, (3) Sisters, and (1) Son - Doug.

 

Drexell is survived by

(1) Daughter-in-law                            Deborah (Knabel) Jackman                Venice, Florida

FUNERAL CEREMONY

A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Neil Kenyon at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 24th, 2018 at the Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home in French Lick, Indiana with interment following in Mount Lebanon Cemetery in French Lick, Indiana with Military Graveside Rites.

 

VISITATION

Friends may call Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Monday, September 24th from

10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Springs Valley Food Pantry.
