Ernest Glen “Ernie” Cave, age 90, of French Lick, Indiana entered into eternal rest on July 1st, 2022 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.
He was born in Crystal, Indiana on December 22nd, 1931 to Paul Thomas Cave, Sr. and Belle Bernice (Ziegler) Cave.
Ernie married Roberta Wagoner on September 5th, 1950 and she preceded him in death on April 26th, 2018.
He was also preceded in death by his Parents; (1) Son – William “Bill” Cave; (3) Brothers – Donal, Dennis “Butch”, and Paul “Junior” Cave; and (2) Sisters – Janice Ann Dodd and Mary Jane Ballard.
Ernie was a 1949 graduate of French Lick High School and a member of the Crystal Community Church and French Lick Lions Club.
He was owner and operator of Springs Valley Redi-Mix from 1967 -1994, but was still active in the concrete business for as long as he was able.
Ernie enjoyed playing golf, mowing and being outside, talking and visiting with people, and loved being with his family.
He is survived by:
(1) Son – Robert Lee Cave (Janet) of Dubois, Indiana
(1) Daughter – Kathy Jo Eads (David) of Darlington, South Carolina
(1) Brother – Kenneth Cave (Auretta) of Crystal, Indiana
(4) Grandchildren – Drew (Paige), Danielle, Brandon and Blaine
(2) Great-Granddaughters – Emmie Jo and Mia and (1) Great-Grandson on the way – Ace.
A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Mike Stout on Saturday, July 9th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Crystal Community Church with burial to follow at Crystal Community Cemetery.
Visitation for friends will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m Friday, July 8th, 2022 at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home, French Lick, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Crystal Community Church, c/o Michael Cave, 8135 E. Cuzco Road West, Dubois, IN 47527.
