Geneva Maxine Street, 92, of West Baden Springs, Indiana entered into eternal rest on June 10th, 2024 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare in Jasper, Indiana.
She was born in Orange County, Indiana on September 26th, 1931 to Amos E. and Ida Mae (Edlin) Carnes.
Geneva married Lloyd G. Street and he preceded her in death January 13th, 1998.
She was also preceded in death by her Parents; Sons – Lloyd “L.A.” Street and Anthony “Tony” Street;
Brother – Amos E. Carnes, Jr.; Sisters – Esther Hammond, Mary Gilliatt and Elsie Carnes; Great-Grandchildren –
Ivan Snider, and Willow and Hazel Roark.
Geneva retired after many years as a hairdresser having her own shop in West Baden Springs. She was instrumental in establishing and participating in the Orange Shirts of Orange County traveling to the Indiana State House for several years to lobby for the casino in French Lick. She loved her community and would actively promote it any way she could. Geneva also loved her dogs very much.
She is survived by:
Daughters-in Law – Rita Street and Sally Street
Grandchildren – Jim (Susan) Street; Jennifer (Nick) Snider; Krystal (James) Roark; Shea (Katie) Street and Nathan (Andrea) Street
Great-Grandchildren – Sarah Maurizio, Clayton Snider; Dexter Roark; Anthony Miskus; Madelyn Street; Grayson Street and Everett Street.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Pastor John Moffatt on Saturday, June 15th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
VISITATION
Visitation for friends will be on Saturday, June 15th, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the French Lick – West Baden Museum, 469 S. Maple Street, Suite 103, French Lick, IN 47432.
