Gerald "Jerry" Roberts

Gerald “Jerry” Roberts, age 71, of West Baden Springs, Indiana entered into eternal rest on March 30th, 2022 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

He was born in Paoli, Indiana on August 31st, 1950 to Ivan A. Roberts and Anna Margaret (Cox) Roberts Hobson.

Jerry married Betty Emmons on May 22nd, 1970 and she survives.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; Step-Father – Hubert Hobson and (1) Sister- Caroleen Hobson.

Jerry was a 1968 graduate of Springs Valley High School, a member of Springs Valley Wesleyan Church and French Lick Masonic Lodge F&AM 586.

He retired from the Indiana Department of Transportation as a supervisor after 43 years of service.

Jerry was a loyal, dedicated and loving man that never met a stranger. You could find him hanging out with the breakfast crew at Nicholson Valley chatting about family, cars and current events. He enjoyed spending time with family, his beloved dog, Toby Jack, and attending car shows.

He is survived by:

Wife - Betty Roberts of West Baden Springs, Indiana

(2) Daughters - Bonnie Wininger of Jasper, Indiana
                         Donna Roberts of Bedford, Indiana

(1) Brother - Frank Hobson (Sue) of French Lick, Indiana

(1) Sister - Mary Jane Deel of French Lick, Indiana

(3) Grandchildren - Kyle Friedman (Kendra) of Dubois, Indiana
            Kiona Friedman (Jacob Durcholz) of Jasper, Indiana
            Tori Burton of West Baden Springs, Indiana

(1) Great-Grandson - Hawkins Friedman

A Masonic Service will be conducted by French Lick Masonic Lodge F&AM 56 followed by the Funeral Ceremony conducted by Pastor John Moffatt on Tuesday, April 5th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mount Lebanon Cemetery.

Visitation for friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5th, 2022 until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Springs Valley Wesleyan Church to support their ministry, 586 S. Indiana Avenue, French Lick, IN 47432

If Jerry were here right now, I would tell him just how much of a good person and friend he was. But it is too late to do that now. Something that we should all take notice of and do while we are still able. Last time I saw him was at Tony's Marina. Of course, we talked about every car and truck we and others owned way back in "the way back years ". I got to introduce him to my son, Logan, who listened and learned about those old cars and trucks. I will truly miss those talks.

Always a dedicated public servant...Jerry took pride in his work, which included so many road and bridge projects over the years; he cared about the people; his work impacted so many.
