Howard Eugene "Gene" Breedlove

Howard Eugene “Gene” Breedlove, age 75, of French Lick, Indiana entered into eternal rest on February 1st, 2023 
at his residence.

He was born in Muncie, Indiana on July 29th, 1947 to Howard and Helen (Kearby) Breedlove.

Gene married Betty Chism on July 1st, 2006 and she preceded him in death on August 11th, 2019.

He was also preceded in death by his Parents and (1) Brother – James “Butch” Breedlove.

Gene was a 1965 graduate of Harrison High School in Gaston, Indiana, proudly served his country in the 
United States Navy where he served in Vietnam, attended Northwood Institute, and was a member of 
French Lick American Legion Post 76.

He retired after 35 years driving a bread delivery route during which time he worked for several companies 
and was a member of the Teamsters Union.  Gene continued to work for the French Lick Resort in the 
transportation department and retired from there in 2019.

He enjoyed attending car shows with his Alfa Romeo.

Gene is survived by:

(1) Daughter – Tephanie J. Shumaker (John) of Columbia City, Indiana

(2) Sons – Jeff Arthur (Heather) of Jasper, Indiana
                  Tommy Arthur (Mickey) of West Baden, Indiana
                    
(1) Brother – Richard “Dick” Breedlove (Shari) of Springville, Tennessee

(1) Sister-in-Law – Bonnie Breedlove of Muncie, Indiana

(1) Granddaughter – Morgan Shumaker

Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date with burial at Highland Chapel Cemetery.
