Howard Mack Lang, age 94, of French Lick, Indiana entered into eternal rest on July 2nd, 2026.
He was born in Lakeland, Florida on January 11th, 1932 to Mack and Berniece (Perkins) Lang.
Howard married Cleo Elizabeth Thornton on May 30th, 1951 and she preceded him in death May 16th, 2014.
He was also preceded in death by his Parents and Son – John Alistair Lang and Daughter – Susan Lynne Thompson.
Howard was a 1950 graduate of Kathleen High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy for almost 20 years. While in the Navy he earned a Psychology Degree and served on the USS Saufley at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Following his retirement from the Navy, he built and managed the Yogi Bear Campground in Orlando, Florida. Howard then worked as Warehouse Manager for Eckerd Pharmacy and Ellett Brothers. Retiring once again, Howard continued working as a Walmart Greeter, and playing Santa Claus for the Polar Express, the nursing home and wherever needed to play that role.
He was a member of the French Lick American Legion and enjoyed reading and fishing.
Howard is survived by:
Daughters – Elizabeth Jane DeLong (Larry) and Nancy Jean Lang
Sister – Mary Lipham
Grandchildren – Toby Switzer and Amanda Lang
Great-Grandchildren – Nicholas and Nathaniel Lang, and EmmaRae Harpenau
Cremation was chosen and a private service will be held at Sapp Cemetery in Raiford, Florida at a later date.
