Your Friend Jan 12 2016 12:00 AM

John, my brother, I have known you my entire life.  Words can not express the loss I feel.  But I will always be thankful for the amount of time we were able to spend together in your last few years.  Please say hi to your mom and dad for me and take care of my parents' until I can join them.  Then we can continue to pull Ellen's hair together and get in trouble for all of her wrong doings.
We love and miss you every day.

Steve, Jodi, Emma and Alex Apr 30 2015 12:00 AM

Thank you, John for your friendship, the joy and laughter you brought to our lives. I have so many wonderful memories of you. There's no way you will ever be forgotten. We love you, my friend. We'll see you on the other side.

Ellen, the years pass by so fast, people go their own ways and lose track. I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. he had crossed my mind a few weeks ago when I was thinking of times when your family and ours were neighbors. that rambunctious young lad I knew turned out to be such a fine human being and a asset to all of us and his country. the world is not a better place with him not being around to play a part of it. my thoughts go with his family and you and yours.

I remember John  always being upbeat and smiling and as I read messages from others who knew and served with him, it seems he did not lose that attribute over the years! I thank you John for serving our country with honor and integrity. I know you will be missed by many and I'm proud to be able to call you a classmate of the great class of '79.  My sincerest sympathy to family members. You are in my prayers.

John...THANKS!  Learned a great deal from you as a Pro Super.  As a matter of fact, when I took charge of the 67 Aircraft Maintenance Unit (2011-2014), it was because of you that I incorporated your specialty into my Production staff.  It made us a well-rounded and very successful unit during my tenure.  Thank and God Bless!  There are no sad goodbyes...only GREAT Memories!!

I was saddened to hear of John's passing.  I worked with him at Eglin and went on several deployments with him.  I will never forget the deployment to Bahrain when he and I would walk laps around the flight line while the aircraft were flying their missions.  It really helped make those long shifts go by just a bit quicker.  He was a wonderful person and I will miss him.  My thoughts are with Althea and his family at this most difficult time.  Please know that he touched many lives and will be missed by many.

I worked and deployed with John at Pope AFB, NC.  He was a good man and had the respect of his peers.  He will be sadly missed. My deepest sympathy to his family and the Air Force family.

Joseph Middendorf, Air Force Civ, Retired. Mar 3 2015 12:00 AM

I'm so sad to lose such a wonderful and caring neighbor.  I met he and his wife when they move onto the same street I live, such loving person .  I'll keep the family in my prayers.  Thank John for his service to our country.  RIP.

Ellen and family, I do not have the words at this sad time of passing.  I know that you (Ellen) will miss John terribly.  I pray that you will be able to find peace and comfort remembering all your wonderful times together.  May God bless you and your family.
