Lester E. Rominger

Lester E. Rominger, 90, of West Baden Springs, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 at Legacy Living of Jasper.

He was born in West Baden Springs, Indiana on September 8th, 1932 to Harry and Maude (Abel) Rominger.

Lester married Shelby Walls on January 31st, 1956 and she preceded him in death on September 30th, 1995.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, (2) Sons – Greg and Ranza Jonathan “R.J.” Rominger; (1) Brother – Harry Rominger, Jr.; (4) Sisters – Verna, Pauline, Patty and Joani.

Lester was a 1950 graduate of West Baden Springs High School. He proudly served his country in the US Navy Naval Air Force during the Korean War. Lester retired from The United States Postal Service, where he had worked for over 30 years. He was a member of the French Lick American Legion Post 76 and the French Lick Masonic Lodge F&AM 486.

In his younger years, Lester enjoyed his coon dogs and coon hunting. He also enjoyed watching IU Basketball, the New York Yankees, and his grandchildren’s sports. Lester coached several generations of little league baseball players on many teams. He was proud of each team and all of “his” players over the years and claimed many tournament trophies during his tenure.   

Lester is survived by:

(2) Sons - Kim Rominger (Monica) of Avon, Indiana
          Mark Rominger (Yvonne) of Jasper, Indiana

(1) Brother – Jerry (Phillis) Rominger of French Lick, Indiana

(11) Grandchildren

(4) Great-Grandchildren

Over the years, there have been many others that claim Lester as “Papaw”.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Pastor John Moffatt on Saturday, April 8th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home, French Lick, Indiana. Burial will follow at Ames Chapel Cemetery.

VISITATION
Visitation will be Saturday, April 8th, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
