Mary Jane Deel, 87, of French Lick, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on July 6th, 2025 at Springs Valley Meadows in French Lick.
She was born in French Lick, Indiana on March 23rd, 1938 to Hubert “Hobby” Hobson and Mary Audra (Roberts) Qualkinbush.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her Parents; Son – John David Deel; Sister – Caroleen Qualkinbush; and brother Jerry Roberts.
She was a 1956 graduate of French Lick High School, was in the Women’s Army Corps, had worked at the French Lick Springs Hotel Pro Shop, Crane and retired from the USDA Soil and Water Conservation Program.
Mary Jane was a member of the French Lick American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and had been in Job’s Daughters.
She enjoyed reading, French Lick history, and was a gifted seamstress having made many wedding and bridesmaid dresses as well as altering clothing. She especially loved her family and friends.

Brothers – Frank Hobson (Sue) of French Lick, Indiana
Ted Qualkinbush of Indianapolis, Indiana
Jim Qualkinbush (Brenda) of Indianapolis, Indiana
Sister – Joy Qualkinbush of Cincinnati, Ohio
Daughter-in-Law – Billie Getto of French Lick, Indiana
Grandchildren – Brandon and Patrick Deel, Morgan Mendenhall, Michael John Deel, Zach Andry, Pat Deel, Shanea Becht, Kyanna Bates, David Deel, Mika Deel and Hilary Burton.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE
A Visitation will be held for family and friends on Sunday, July 13th, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home.
A Private Burial will be held at a later date at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Springs Valley Education Foundation, 498 S. Larry Bird Blvd., French Lick, IN 47432.
