Russell M. Lewis, age 97, of French Lick, Indiana passed away August 18th, 2013 at Medco Health and Rehabilitation in French Lick, Indiana.
He was born on February 29th, 1916 in Indian Springs in Martin County, Indiana to James W. and Edith “Waggoner†Lewis.
He married Alta Mae Baker on June 26th, 1937 and she preceded him in death on August 1st, 2000.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife and (1) Brother – Walter Grant Lewis.
Russell was a member of the French Lick Masonic Lodge F&AM #586 and the Ames Chapel United Methodist Church in Paoli, Indiana. He graduated from the Owensburg High School Class of 1935.
He was a farmer all his life.
He is survived by:

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 23rd, 2013 at the Ames Chapel United Methodist Church in Paoli, Indiana. Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 22nd, 2013 at the Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday at the Ames Chapel United Methodist Church.
A Masonic Memorial Service will be performed by the French Lick Masonic Lodge F&AM #586 at 7:00 PM on Thursday.
Pastor Roy Carpenter and Matt Hinshaw will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Ames Chapel Cemetery in Paoli, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Ames Chapel United Methodist Church, 5368 West US Highway 150, Paoli, IN 47454.
Arrangements are in the care of Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home 9640 W. State Rd. 56 French Lick, In. 47432
