Violet Condra
Violet Condra, age 86, of French Lick, Indiana, entered into eternal rest and was united with the love of her life, Jim on March 12th, 2022 at Springs Valley Meadows, French Lick, Indiana.
She was born in French Lick, Indiana on August 28th, 1935 to Oral Carnes, Sr. and Belva (Hammond) Carnes.
Violet married James K. Condra on October 30th, 1951 and he preceded her in death August 1st, 2021.
She was also preceded in death by her Parents; (4) Brothers – Bob, Bill, Jack and Richard Carnes; (1) Granddaughter – Jennifer Condra; and Son-in-Law – Mike Deakins.
Violet graduated from French Lick High School, was a founding member of Springs Valley Christian Church, and attended Red Quarry Christian Church.
She retired from Crane NSWC and before she retired, became a women’s rights advocate for women still employed at Crane.
In her younger years, she was a powder puff derby winner, master mole hunter, and enjoyed traveling the United States and dancing with her husband.
Violet enjoyed crocheting and created afghans, doilies, and other beautiful items, was deeply involved in the church and very proud of her family.
She was devoted to her family and found great joy in caring for them.
Violet is survived by:
(1) Son – Steve Condra (Rachelle) of French Lick, Indiana
(2) Daughters – Jan Deakins of Brazil, Indiana and Judie Cosgrove (Ted) of Centralia, Illinois
(1) Brother – Junior Carnes of French Lick, Indiana
(11) Grandchildren (12) Great-Grandchildren (3) Great-Great-Grandchildren
FUNERAL CEREMONY
A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Bro. Joe Crow on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
VISITATION
Visitation for friends will be Tuesday, March 15th, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
