Virgil Wallace Hendrix, age 93 of Paoli, Indiana entered into eternal rest on August 11th, 2025 at Springs Valley Meadows in French Lick, Indiana.
He was born in the Red Quarry area of Orange County, Indiana on May 5th, 1932 to Lowel and Lorabell (Campbell) Hendrix.
Wallace married Carol Mayfield on September 14th, 1959 and she preceded him in death on April 24th, 2025.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Son – David Roger in infancy, Brother – Dewey Max Hendrix and Sister – Nancy Monk.
Wallace was a 1950 graduate of Shoals High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
He worked for his grandfather Harry Hendrix and Son doing insurance and taxes, Springs Valley Bank Insurance Department, Torp Aero Services in Bloomington as a pilot instructor, and was a pilot for 17 years with the Indiana University Flight Department.
He was a member of Springs Valley Wesleyan Church, toured with Pro Bass Association, and Captained a tour boat at Patoka Lake.
Wallace enjoyed reading, RVing, fishing, his cats and spending time with family.
He is survived by:
Son – Stephen Hendrix (Mattie)
Daughter – Marsha Quinn (Brian)
Grandchildren – Becky, Tiffany, Sara, Daniel and Connor
Great-Grandchildren – McKinsey, Beckham, McKayla, Ryan, Branson, Kaylee, Lydia, Derick, Decon,
Paisley, and Easton
FUNERAL CEREMONY
A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Pastor John Moffatt on Saturday, August 16th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Springs Valley Wesleyan Church with burial at a later date at Anderson Cemetery.
VISITATION
Visitation for friends and family will be Friday, August 15th, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Springs Valley Wesleyan Church, 586 S. Indiana Avenue, French Lick, IN 47432.
